Week 1 - April 6th to April 10th

Found Object Color Wheel

Hello Kindergarten! Welcome to your first online assignment! This week we will complete a Found Object Color Wheel. A found object is something we can find around our house or in nature. It is a common object. For your Found Object Color Wheel, please find 6 items around your house or outside to create a color wheel. For example, I need a red item so I may use an apple. Remember, you will need all three Primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) and all three secondary colors (orange, green, and purple). They must also be in the correct order and in a circle. If you need to review color, watch the color song by clicking the video icon to the left of "Week 1." Complete the Art Completion form below after finishing this activity, due April 10th.

Week 2 - April 13th to April 17th

Finish the Line Drawings

Hello Students! This week we would like you to use your imagination and creativity to create your own work of art based on this incomplete line drawing.

Click on the file icon to the left of "Week 2" to see the unfinished line drawing worksheet from classroomfreebies.com. It is your job to create a finished work of art based on the lines.

You may print the document or copy the lines on your own piece of paper. Use any drawing supplies you have available!

Fill out the Art Completion form below once finished, due April 17th.

Week 3 - April 20th to April 24th

Choose Your Favorite

There is more to art than just making an art project. We learn about artist all of the time in class as a part of art history. Another part of art is art criticism. This is when we evaluate art, make predictions, and share our opinions. Today we want to hear your opinion of art. Click the quiz  link to the left of "Week 3" to take a quiz asking about you favorite works of art. These questions will ask you to pick your favorite based on elements we have covered before such as line and color. Fill out the Art Completion form below once finished, due April 24th.

Week 4 - April 27th to May 1st

Kandinsky Music Drawing

Many artists take inspiration from the world around them. Some artists enjoy listening to music to create art. Sometimes we listen to music in class!

Wassily Kandinsky was a famous artist who enjoyed making art inspired by music. He said he could see the colors in the music, and loved to paint based on the way the music made him feel.

Today you are going to draw just like Kandinsky liked to, by listening to music. Click the music icon to the left to hear the song. Please listen to the music file on repeat until you have completed the drawing. You may use any drawing supplies you have available. Draw what the music makes you feel. Does the music sound happy? Does it sound sad? Maybe you think it sounds scary? What does the song make you think of? Draw it! Fill out the Art Completion form below once finished, due May 1st.

Outdoor Sculpture

Andy Goldsworthy is a British artist who uses objects in nature to create artwork. He uses stones, leaves, sticks, ice, sand and many more objects he finds in nature to create beautiful outdoor sculptures. A sculpture is a physical piece of artwork we can touch. Andy finds natural objects he thinks are pretty and arranges them in a way that look very nice. Watch the video provided to see some of his beautiful artwork, then go outside and see what objects you can find. Remember, it can be rocks, sticks, leaves, or anything that is found in nature! Arrange your objects into an outdoor sculpture.
